The Hartford Whalers played in the World Hockey Association (WHA) from 1972-1979 and in the NHL from 1979-1997. Originally based in Boston, the team was known as the New England Whalers until 1974 when they moved to Hartford, Connecticut.
After 25 years, during which the Whalers won four division championships, two conference championships, and one Avco Cup (WHA), the Whalers franchise relocated to North Carolina where they became the Carolina Hurricanes.
Over the years, the Whalers jersey evolved several times. In 1992, the Whalers changed their principal green out for navy blue and added green, silver and white to the jersey. Custom Throwback Jerseys is proud to stock the many color variations of the Whalers throwback uniforms.
In 2018, it was announced that the Carolina Hurricanes would wear Hartford Whalers Throwback jerseys in the NHL matchup against the Boston Bruins on December 23rd.
